The Hypocrisy of Christian hating.
I am a member of a social networking site for moms. One hot topic is Christianity versus....all other religions it seems. It is this way in society, on networking sites, and generally all across the web.
It is sad that it always has to come to which is more right or which is the better religion to be. I am Christian. It is a faith based religion. Faith is a truth that lives within a person. It is an opinion of reality. It is as much part of a person as a personality trait is, or even a physical trait in most cases. Which is why it is such a hot topic in today's world. Christianity is seemingly under attack at all times.
I live in an area that is approx. 98% Christian. I wasn't raised in church. I was raised to believe in God and Jesus, but had little to no knowledge about its history or the Bible. I am OK with that. It planted the seeds in my life to be a stronger Christian in time. I can't say that I regularly study the bible, although Ive read a good bit of it. It is a continual learning process for me. I attend church semi- regularly. I also am in a constant state of improving my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. I love that it is a religion of love, acceptance, and generosity. It is often forgotten that those reasons are the true meaning of being Christ-like. Thus being the separating barrier between christians and the outside world.
I can understand the dislike of Christians from non believers. Look at our history of condemnation, wars, and hypocrisy. Look at our Christians today!! Crazy zealots waging wars on all those that believe differently. Fundamentalist's unbending point of view. Westboro Baptist church???? Oh how have these people gotten the message soooooooo wrong? I come close to being un Christ like myself just thinking of all the hate and intolerance that they are making others suffer through....that they teach their children! ugh, off on a tangent. So I understand the dislike, I dislike some Christians for the same reason nonbelievers do. But its the stereotyping and lumping of ALL Christians that I find hypocritical.
The main argument against Christianity is that there are so many of us that are close minded, hateful, and unaccepting of others. Isn't it being mighty close minded to group us all together and assume that we all feel the same way? And then choose not to accept us as we are because of our beliefs?
Another belief is that Christians pick and choose what part of the religion that they believe, therefore giving way to the distrust of Christians and general dislike of them. My response to that is......why are you judging someone based on their beliefs? Just because the bible can be...and is interpreted differently by just about every denomination....means nothing. Its the same difference between a non believer and a believer. Its different belief systems. In my opinion...it is the same to dislike a Christian for believing what they do.....than it is to dislike an atheist, Muslim, Jew, or Wicca for their beliefs. Is it right? absolutely not, not under any circumstance is it right to hate or dislike anyone for their opinion or beliefs.
I am sad that the Christian faith is considered to be a hateful and intolerant religion. It is the folks that hate in the name of Christ that make it seem that way. Its not right and is unfair to the rest of us Christians who love others for who they are. Regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or personal choices....I am here to show everyone love and acceptance. I don't have to approve or agree with everyone. I am just here to make my lord happy, and being loving and accepting to all is just the thing to do it. :)

Entry into the blogging world
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing regarding this blog. Let us just use this as a learning experience. The reason I've created this is out of pure boredom. I thought it may give me an outlet to vent frustrations, among other things. I hope to add more soon :)
